Privacy Policy
Leer en español: Política de privacidad · Ler em português: Política de privacidade
Last updated: 24 October 2026. This policy explains, in plain language, what personal data ghl.software collects when you visit, why, who receives it and how you can control it. It covers this website only. Once you click through to GoHighLevel or any other tool, that company’s own privacy policy applies.
Who is responsible for your data
ghl.software is an independent guide to GoHighLevel, the marketing and CRM platform made by HighLevel LLC, published in English, Spanish and Portuguese. The site is not owned by HighLevel, and we are not HighLevel’s agent or employee.
The person responsible for your data (the “data controller”) is José A. Gaibor, an individual, not a company. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to him. For anything related to privacy, write to [email protected]. We don’t publish a postal address, so email is the way to reach us. This policy applies to every language version of the site: English, Spanish and Portuguese.
The site has no contact forms, no newsletter, no visitor accounts and no payments. That keeps the data we handle small, and this page describes all of it. If you only read articles, the data involved is mostly technical: logs, analytics and advertising cookies.
What data we collect and where it comes from
- Server logs. Our hosting provider automatically records standard technical data for each request: IP address, browser, the page requested and the date and time.
- 404 error logs. The Redirection plugin logs pages that weren’t found so we can fix broken links. These entries can include your IP address.
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 through Google Site Kit (measurement ID G-YV727T7RFK). It uses cookies to record pages viewed, approximate location, device, browser, how you arrived and how long you stayed.
- Advertising. The site loads Google AdSense code, so Google may set or read cookies and use identifiers to show and measure ads.
- Comments. If you comment on a post, WordPress stores your name, email, website (optional), comment text, IP address and browser user agent. Your email is not shown publicly.
- Emails you send us. If you write to us, we receive your address and whatever you choose to include.
- Embedded videos. Some pages include Vimeo or YouTube videos (YouTube loads in privacy-enhanced mode). When a video loads or plays, Vimeo or YouTube (Google) may collect data about your device and viewing and may set cookies.
We never ask for sensitive data, so please don’t include it in comments or emails.
Why we use it and on what legal basis
We use this data only to:
- keep the site running, secure and free of broken links (server and 404 logs);
- learn which content is useful so we can improve it (analytics);
- fund a free site through ads and affiliate commissions (advertising);
- publish and moderate comments and keep out spam;
- answer your messages and requests.
For visitors in the EU and UK, the GDPR requires a legal basis. We rely on our legitimate interest in operating, securing, measuring and funding the site (Art. 6(1)(f)); on your consent when you choose to post a comment or save your details in the comment form (Art. 6(1)(a)); and on legal obligations when the law requires us to keep or disclose information (Art. 6(1)(c)).
Some countries require prior consent for analytics or advertising cookies. We don’t show a cookie consent banner at the moment, so if you prefer to block these cookies, use the controls in our Cookie Policy. We don’t make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on you.
Who receives your data, transfers and retention
- Our hosting provider, which stores the site and its server logs.
- Google, for Analytics and AdSense, under the Google Privacy Policy. See also how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
- Vimeo, when an embedded video loads, under Vimeo’s privacy policy.
- HighLevel and FirstPromoter, only after you click an affiliate link. You land on their sites, where they set their own cookies to credit the referral, under their policies (HighLevel, FirstPromoter).
- Public authorities, if a valid legal request requires it.
We do not sell personal data. Under California law, some advertising cookies may count as “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising; you can turn off Google’s ad personalization in Google ad settings.
Google (including YouTube) and Vimeo are based in the United States, so data they collect may be processed there and in other countries where they operate. Each describes in its own policy the legal safeguards it uses for international transfers, such as standard contractual clauses. We keep data only as long as it’s useful for the purposes above:
- Analytics data: according to the retention configured in Google Analytics.
- Server logs: according to our hosting provider’s standard log rotation.
- 404 logs: until we clear them during routine maintenance.
- Comments: until they are deleted, by us or at your request.
- Emails: as long as needed to answer you and handle any follow-up.
- Advertising and video data: according to Google’s and Vimeo’s own policies.
Your rights and how to use them
Wherever you live, you can email us to ask what data we hold about you, to correct it or to delete it (a comment, for example).
EU and UK visitors (GDPR): you can access, rectify and erase your data, restrict or object to processing (including processing based on legitimate interest), receive your data in a portable format and withdraw consent at any time. We reply within one month, which the GDPR allows us to extend by two more months for complex requests. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA): to the extent this law applies to us, you can know what personal information we collect and how we use it, delete it, correct it, opt out of its sale or sharing, and exercise these rights without discrimination. We reply within 45 days, as the law provides.
To make a request, email [email protected] with the subject “Privacy request”. We may ask for details to confirm it’s you, such as the email you used to comment.
Children, security and changes
ghl.software is written for business owners, agencies and marketers. It is not directed to anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect children’s data. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, tell us and we will delete it.
We use reasonable measures to protect the data we handle, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access to the WordPress dashboard limited to the site’s administrators. Comment data is stored in the site’s WordPress database, and server logs stay with our hosting provider. No online system is perfectly secure, which is one more reason we collect so little.
We may update this policy when the site, its tools or the law change. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If a change affects how we use data we already hold, we’ll explain it clearly here.
