If you want to become a GoHighLevel affiliate, joining takes about five minutes. Setting it up so you actually get paid, stay compliant and know which content works takes about an afternoon. Most people do the first part and skip the second, which is why their first payout takes months longer than it should.
Here’s the full process, in the order that saves you headaches later.

Step 1: Apply to become a GoHighLevel affiliate
There are two doors in:
Already a HighLevel customer?
Switch to Agency View and open Affiliate Portal in the left menu. It’s visible to agency admins.
Not a customer?
Register through HighLevel’s affiliate signup (powered by FirstPromoter). You don’t need to pay for HighLevel to join.
Approval is at HighLevel’s discretion. Use a real name, a real email and, ideally, a website or channel that shows how you’ll promote.
Step 2: Complete the required resources
The first time you open the portal, HighLevel asks you to review four resources: the Affiliate Policy, a compliance video, the branding guidelines and a content guide. Don’t click through them. The policy is what decides whether your commissions are paid, and the June 2026 update changed several rules.
Step 3: Set up Tipalti and your tax form
Tipalti is the only payout method. In the portal go to Payment Details; if you don’t have an agency account, email [email protected] for a setup link. Complete your W-9 (U.S.) or W-8 (outside the U.S.) at the same time. Our payouts guide covers methods, dates and the $50 rule.
Step 4: Customize your link before sharing it
- Customize your token in the HighLevel Affiliate Program campaign so your link is recognizable. Do this first: links using the old token stop working once you change it.
- Create SubIDs for each channel (blog, YouTube, email, community) so you can see what produces customers.
- Choose your landing page. Your dashboard offers ready-made links, including HighLevel’s 30-day Bootcamp page. Both it and the default 14-day trial page pay the same 40%.
- Don’t mask or redirect the link. HighLevel requires links to be used as provided.
Step 5: Add your disclosure everywhere
HighLevel expects a plain disclosure before your main content, such as “I earn a commission if you sign up through my link.” On social posts, include #GoHighLevel and #ad before the “More” cutoff. On Instagram use the Paid Partnership tool; on YouTube, a visible “Ad” or “Promotion” label.
Your compliance checklist
✅ Disclosure at the top of every page and post
✅ No brand-term bidding (HighLevel, GoHighLevel, GHL, SaaSPRENEUR)
✅ No direct linking from ads
✅ No coupons, bonuses or extended trials without written approval
✅ No income promises
✅ No self-referrals
✅ Link used exactly as provided
✅ Brand assets used only from HighLevel’s official brand kit
The paid-ads rules trip up more affiliates than anything else, so read how to promote GoHighLevel with paid ads before spending money.
How to get your first five referrals
HighLevel’s own help center suggests five starting points. Here’s how they look in practice:
- Email or text your network. HighLevel even includes a “Potential Affiliate Nurture” campaign in its Marketing Agency snapshot that you can adapt.
- Make short YouTube tutorials. Why you switched, your favorite feature, a workflow that saved you hours. Put your link at the top of the description and in a pinned comment.
- Write comparison and how-to posts. Agency owners research tools before buying. Posts like our GoHighLevel vs ManyChat comparison meet them there.
- Answer questions on social media. Search for people struggling with problems HighLevel solves and reply with a genuinely useful tip first.
- Build or join a community. Share wins and processes; link your resources in the group description.
HighLevel also runs an Affiliate Welcome Course, weekday Q&As and a monthly Affiliate Hangout. They’re free, and they’re where rule changes get explained first.
What to expect after you become a GoHighLevel affiliate
Realistically: a handful of clicks, a few trial signups and maybe one or two paying customers. That’s normal. Commissions start after the first paid month plus 45 days, and you need $50 to get paid. Use the commission calculator to set expectations, and focus on helping referrals succeed so they stay.
