Disclosure: I’m an independent HighLevel affiliate, not a HighLevel employee. I earn a commission if you sign up or join the affiliate program through my links, at no extra cost to you. The opinions here are my own, not HighLevel’s.
The first commission is exciting. The first payout is often confusing. Your dashboard shows money, the 15th comes and goes, and nothing arrives. Almost always, nothing is wrong: the commission just hasn’t cleared the program’s rules yet.
This guide walks through exactly how HighLevel pays affiliates, how long each step takes and how to fix the issues that actually delay payments.
The payout timeline, from click to cash

- Trial (14 or 30 days). Nothing is earned yet. Commissions count from the first paid subscription.
- First payment. The customer’s card is charged; a pending commission appears in your portal.
- 45 days in good standing. The account must stay active and unpaused. Cancellations, refunds and chargebacks during this window remove the commission.
- $50 minimum. Your approved commissions must add up to at least $50. One Starter customer ($38.80) isn’t enough on its own.
- Payout on the 15th. HighLevel approves and sends payments on the 15th for the previous month’s commissions (next business day if it falls on a weekend or holiday).
Put together, the first payment usually lands two to three months after a referral’s signup. After that, recurring commissions arrive every month.
Setting up Tipalti
Tipalti is HighLevel’s only payout system. If it isn’t set up, you can’t be paid.
If you have a HighLevel agency account
Go to Agency View → Affiliate Portal → Payment Details and complete the Tipalti setup there. Note that payment details are visible to anyone with agency admin permissions, so review roles under Agency Settings → Team if others work in your account.
If you joined without an agency account
Email [email protected] and request a Tipalti setup link. Do it the day you’re approved, not the day you make your first sale.
| Where you live | Payout methods available |
|---|---|
| United States | Direct deposit, PayPal, debit card |
| Outside the U.S. | ACH transfer, PayPal, debit card |
Tax forms: do them first
Tax forms are completed in Tipalti or in the portal under Payment Details → Tax Forms. U.S. affiliates submit a W-9; non-U.S. affiliates usually submit a W-8. The older affiliate terms warn that HighLevel can refuse payouts for commissions earned more than 120 days before your tax form is received, so this isn’t a step to postpone.
The rules that can cost you money
- Last click wins. Attribution goes to the last affiliate link clicked within a 90-day window.
- Cancellations end commissions. A customer stops counting as yours 30 days after cancellation.
- Self-referrals are flagged. FirstPromoter automatically flags signups that share your IP, name, email or phone. Helping a client sign up from your office Wi-Fi can trigger it, so let clients sign up on their own devices.
Payment missing? Check these first
| What you see | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Commission pending for weeks | Still inside the 45-day window | Wait; it clears automatically |
| Balance under $50 | Threshold not reached | It rolls over (watch the 120-day limit) |
| Payment not sent on the 15th | Tipalti or payout method incomplete | Update details in Payment Details |
| “Invalid EIN” error | Tax ID mismatch | Correct it in Tipalti or contact support |
| Payment marked self-referral | Matching IP, name, email or phone | Contact affiliate support with details |
| Error code 400 when requesting | Portal or account issue | Email support with your affiliate email and link |
Payment questions go to [email protected]. Include the email you registered with and your referral link.
How to get paid sooner (legitimately)
- Set up Tipalti and tax forms on day one.
- Point beginners to HighLevel’s 30-day Bootcamp trial; better-onboarded customers stay past the 45 days.
- Help referrals pick the right plan so they don’t cancel or downgrade.
- Track SubIDs so you know which channel produces customers who actually pay.
To estimate what your payouts could look like, try the GoHighLevel commission calculator, and see the full affiliate program guide for the rest of the rules.

$50 USD. Balances that don’t reach $50 within 120 days can be forfeited.

Every dollar figure in this article is plan math based on HighLevel’s public pricing, not an earnings claim. Most affiliates earn little or nothing; results depend on your audience, your work and customer retention.
